Installation
The LinkGear CO2 Ampel comes pre-flashed with ESPHome. The device is useable out of the box without any connectivity, but its true magic is unleashed by integrating it into Home Assistant. If you want to flash ESPHome yourself, you can find the stock configuration on the GitHub page.
Connecting to WiFi
There are two ways to connect the device to WiFi quickly. The recommended method is using Improv, which works over serial and Bluetooth. This is also available on the LinkGear Web Flasher. Alternatively, you can use the onboard access point by choosing the open WiFi and navigating your browser to 192.168.4.1.
Connecting via Serial
If the serial port does not open on your computer, please download the drivers for the serial chip CP2102N over at silabs.
Operation
It is recommended that you use a standard USB Type-C cable and a power supply that can continuously supply 5V 1.5A. The device does not have a power button and will turn on as soon as it is plugged in. It is designed for continuous operation and can stay plugged in as long as it is used within specification.
With the default firmware, the device uses the following LED colors to display the current CO2 values:
CO2 Level (PPM) | LED Color |
---|---|
Below 800 | Green |
800 - 1199 | Yellow |
1200 - 1499 | Orange |
1500 and above | Red |
Flashing new Firmware
This device can be flashed using serial, the easiest way is using the LinkGear Web Flasher.
Maintenance
